Risk & Insurance Manager, Daimler Trucks North America
Dan Holden is the Manager of Corporate Risk & Insurance for Daimler Trucks North America, a multi-national truck manufacturer with total annual revenue of $20 Billion, and is responsible for the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Holden has been in the insurance field for 30+ years, beginning as a multi-line claims examiner and advancing into a number of risk management and medical cost containment positions. He also worked as a Vice-President, Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Consultant for Marsh USA Inc. where he specialized in national transportation accounts.
In 2014 he was named a Risk & Insurance All-Star by Risk & Insurance® magazine as well as awarded the Liberty Mutual Responsibility Leader award. In 2016 he was named a Leading Risk Manager by Insurance Business America.
Holden earned his B.A. in Journalism from Oregon State University and is a free-lance writer for magazines and newspapers in the U.S. and Canada where he specializes in sports and history. He also writes for Risk & Insurance® magazine’s Risk Insider, and is a contributor to Insurance Thought Leadership.com. Holden was recently named to the Rising Medical Study Council.
He holds an Associate in Claims designation; is a licensed insurance broker; and is Past-President of the Oregon Risk & Insurance Management Society Chapter. Holden currently sits on the national RIMS “Member & Chapter Services Committee” as well as the California Workers’ Compensation & Risk Advisory Board.
